The Village Bake Shoppe began
in 1993 with the goal of providing made-from-scratch, superior quality, homey-baked goods
using only the finest and freshest ingredients.
Offering a wide-variety of baked goods from
breakfast through dessert, the store was a cozy, comfortable place to have a cup of coffee
and a piece of something delicious. It wasnt long before customers realized that we
really did deliver what we promised. From scones to elegant desserts, the Village Bake
Shoppe became the place to get a dessert that not only looked wonderful, but tasted like
it came from grandmas kitchen. And oh, those wonderful smells!
The Village Bake Shoppe expanded by offering
desserts to restaurants and clubs in the area. Many of our original clients
are still with us. When the famous Hard Rock Café came to Niagara Falls,
they asked the Village Bake Shoppe to prepare all the desserts for the
celebrity-filled grand opening. Considered a fabulous success, the star of
the evening was the unique "barrel-over the falls" cake designed exclusively
for that special occasion.
Our gourmet cake and specialty dessert line
includes over 50 incredible varieties.
We also have a full line of shower, wedding
and special occasion cakes. Every cake is custom designed. |
After establishing the retail and wholesale business, the next step
was to develop a line of gift baskets featuring the delicious baked goods from the Village
Bake Shoppe. So often baskets are filled with small samplings of esoteric foods destined
never to be opened or tasted. At the VBS we think the wide variety of the foods we bake
right here in our kitchen make the best presentation. We feature special gift baskets for the holidays from Valentine "Sweet
Treat" baskets to Mothers Day "Breakfast in Bed" Trays.
All year round and for any
occasion, from a new baby, to heartfelt sympathy our baskets always send the right message
and are greatly appreciated. Following the success of our gift basket line, we felt
people all over the country should have the opportunity to taste our delicious food.
Starting with our own customers who were anxious to send gifts to friends out-of-town, we
began the Village Bake Shoppe Mail-Order
business. Receiving
the ultimate recommendation by Marian Burros, food editor of the New York Times in
November of 1996, "Give me pecan pie bars, Margy bars
(buttercrumb with fudge),
strawberry jam bars or raspberry crumb bars
from The Village Bake Shoppe and leave me
alone" put us on the map. Since then people from all over the country have tried and
loved our baked goods. |
